Toarco Toraja is a quiet little cafe in the upstairs area of papaya market. They serve good coffee, snacks, and some main meals. They gave two bigs heaps of ice cream for my affogato, and my potato wedges were crispy on the outside and soft inside, they were both delicious. The side of mayo was nice too. I recommend this place if you want a secluded place to get away from the crowd while still being in Blok M area.

A cool coffee shop with a good ambience... mostly visitors are japanese... should try their new menu, big portion and good too.

Nice 'hidden' and quiet spot, located above Papaya on the second floor. They have plenty of menu, from coffee to non-coffee, and various kinds of food menu. The atmosphere was nice, and the staffs are nice too.

First visit on September 2024. This relatively hidden place is nicely located above Papaya grocery store (second floor). The place is well-lit, not too crowded and noisy, creating a really well ambience for chat with friends/colleagues or doing some laptop work. They use Toraja coffee, a little bitter for my liking, but it was well made and thick (not watered down). I ordered the cold brew. For additional milk (if the coffee is too bitter), it's additional 5K rupiah. I also ordered the Takoyaki. THIS is really the winner here. I am personally convinced that this is THE BEST takoyaki that you can get in Jakarta. An order gives you 4 balls that are fully loaded with toppings. They are made with potatoes instead of flour (like croquette), so it does not feel 'maghtegh' or too filling in your tummy, and of course with octopus chunks in there. For the toppings, they use generous amounts of the familiar bonito flakes, seaweed, gari (pickled pink ginger), mayonnaise, and teriyaki sauce. Why it was memorable because just from the takoyaki itself, I could feel that the food was made with real ingredients and not artifical. The mayo is probably not some cheap mayo because it was really tasty. Maybe kewpie? You could also feel chunks of potatoes in the takoyaki. I would definitely come back for more and looking forward to be continuously surprised. --- Edit on November 2024: Since my first review, I have come back at least 4 more times and will be coming back for more. Each time I come back and whenever I ordered food, the kitchen takes a bit longer time compared to other restaurants, but really the taste never fail and compensate the waiting time.

Finally had a chance to visit the coffee shop! Overall experience : - The atmosphere is calm (i thnk not a lot of people know about this place coz the access to the cafe somehow hidden ) and they play lot of ghibli instrument as BGM - The service is okayy (waiters is friendly) - The coffee, i order Hot cappuccino and the foam is sooooo thick and dense so it can hold a utensil without collapsing - The dessert, i order Banana Cake, AND IT'S SO FREAKING MOIST AND THICK!

Very nice Barista/Staff Clean, bright quaint interior. Smoking and Non-Smoking section. Located on the 2nd level of Papaya Market. Pleasant surprise. The History of Toarco Toraja coffee influenced by Japan. Coffee: PuLu PuLu : V60, Hot, Notes: strong Jasmine and lychee. Smooth body. Very unique and refreshing Looking forward to my next visit. Toarco Toraja Coffee is such a hidden gem right in the heart of Blok M. Not many people know about it since it’s tucked away above Papaya Supermarket — but that’s what makes it special. The place feels calm and exclusive, perfect for a quiet coffee break. The coffee is really good (I tried their iced latte and loved the balance, smooth, not too bitter). I also had the chocolate dessert, which paired perfectly with the coffee. If you visit, definitely pick the smoking area,it has the best view overlooking the street and feels super relaxing, especially in the afternoon.

Hidden oasis in Blok M, located in Papaya supermarket second floor. The place not too big but so neat, with minimalist decor. The ambience is so calm and relaxing. The coffee was good and the food was delicious. Especially the croque madame. Pricewise very affordable considering the food quality and taste. Must visit next time I'm in Blok M area.
